Hard rewards

Chrysalis Education recognise that children need rewards to affirm positive actions. Reward clips are coloured clips awarded by the instructor or assistant for students demonstrating excellent behaviour, persistence, overcoming a personal barrier or an outside achievement.

Reward Clip

Grand Master (GM) badges are awarded for students attaining 10 clips. A great grandmaster (GGM) badge is awarded for a student attaining 5 GM badges. These hard rewards help to give your child a confidence boost whenever they have a personal achievement.

Soft Rewards

Using praise correctly with children will establish the right boundaries. We use demonstration of students in front of the class to show other students how improvements can be made. The High five or other high energy celebration is a great way to show children they have done a great class.

Gradings

"Student grading" continues the major rewards for children. It demonstrates to them how well they are progressing through the Self Mastery programs. They can just look back every 2 months to the new students and they will see amazing results in themselves. This generates amazing self esteem which in turn creates self confidence.

Grading is every 2 months and is undertaken by the head instructor. Little dragon students will be tested for life skills using games and simple drills similar to their classes. Juniors will be evaluated according to the curriculum with stricter criteria for each grading level as they proceed.

To be eligible for your next belt your child should attend training regularly. Ideally 2 classes per week with any missed classes being made up as soon as possible. Attendance of at least 7 classes per month is advised. 

Don't worry - your coach will help your child, if you have been away.
Regular training promotes dedication, self discipline and self confidence.
